A football fan and a development sector professional met at a conference. The question: why doesn't football's global energy translate into social impact? Play For Goals was sketched on a napkin that evening.

We piloted Play For Goals with 12 clubs and 8 NGOs across 4 countries. 847 goals were logged. $42,350 was pledged. We knew we were onto something real.
